Primary News

Lower Primary Back to School Nights next week.
We look forward to welcoming all of our lower primary parents to Back to School nights this week. These are on Monday ( PK and K) and Wednesday (Prepa and Grade 1) and will begin promptly at 6pm. We will start in the PAC to listen to a few words from Mr Hobson and Mrs Dickson and will then move to classrooms where your child’s teacher will spend time talking you through the school day and our expectations for the year, for the children, and for the parents!

Upper Primary Back to School nights will take place on Monday and Wednesday of the following week.

Blogs
Please remember to check the Blog for your child’s class on a regular basis. Our teachers are very good at posting photo’s of the children at work and play, as well as other useful information. Increasingly the Blogs are also being used to share homework with the children.

Extra curricula activities and Team Sports
Our extra curricular activities and team sports programme begin on Monday 2nd September.

Secondary News

Construction Work
There have been a number of construction projects from the summer which have recently been completed. We have new Head of Year Offices and now a single Secondary Office where Marielos and Roxana both work. We also have two new science laboratories to meet the growing needs for science at school. There is still work going on the Basketball areas which will not be completed until later next month. The project to provide more classrooms and the new Cafeteria area is on schedule to be completed before the end of term but we do not expect this ongoing construction to cause any issues around the campus. It is exciting to see our facilities improving again this year.

Prefects on Duty
Each morning we have prefects on duty in the car parks and they help to ensure the safety of the students arriving at school. We would ask that all drivers cooperate and drive safely in the car park areas. Please follow the prefects direction and in particular we ask that drivers do not use their mobile phones while driving through the pick up areas.

Student Council Reps
The Student Council will be holding tutor group elections for the Student Council next week. Your son or daughter has details in their email inbox if they want to stand for election. All elections will be secret ballots run by the Student Council Executive.

Extra Curricular
We held our Extra Curricular sign up fair yesterday for students to choose their Extra Curricular and Team Sports options. There were a wide range of clubs on offer including many new activities. Our intention is to encourage students to try different activities to help them discover new interests and talents. You can see the range of clubs on offer on your Class blog.
