From the Headmaster

Party Time and Summer Carnival Success!
Thank you to the Parents Association for organising very successful and enjoyable events this weekend - a well attended “Party Time” and a much appreciated 10th Summer Carnival. It was pleasing to see so many ex-students present together with our parents on Friday and to have our children enjoying a wonderful whole-day carnival on Saturday.
On behalf of our community I thank Ing Alex Portillo and the Parents Association officers, including the Madres Enlaces. Additionally, thank you to the maintenance, security and cleaning personnel who were here more than at home this weekend and the secondary students who worked hard to make the children’s games a success.

Pre-Registration Process for Next School Year
We have had 60% of our parents carry out the online Pre-Registration process as of midday Monday, with the deadline being midnight. We are extending this deadline until midnight on Wednesday 2nd of May, so we ask parents to Pre-Register by then. Please note that appointments for visiting school to complete the registration are being allocated on a first-come basis.

5th Grade UK trip - team building weekend
Children from Grade 5 who will be going on the school trip to the UK this summer will be having a team building camping weekend next weeend. They will be involved in cooperativegames and activities designed to help them bond with each other and with the accompanying members of staff.
Olympians!
Over the next couple of weeks the children in Grade 1 and UP are being taken to a variety of sporting venues around San Salvador. The objective of this is to expose the children to sports which we may not offer in school and encourage them to think more widely about sporting options which are available in this country. The children will be meeting and talking to gymnasts, tennis players, cyclists ….......
Salvadorean and Cuban Olympians will be visiting children in school to next week and talking to them about their sports and their intense training schedules as well as the values which the Olympic Games exemplify. Members of the Salvadorean cycling team and athletes from the Cuban Olympic team will, we hope, inspire pupils to get involved in sports. Who knows - we may have future Olympians amongst our primary pupils!
