From the Headmaster

Possible traffic delays on Monday - arrive early!
The last day for the Class of 2013 is on Monday. The traditional “entry” on the last day will take place at around 7am and drivers are asked to arrive early to avoid being caught up in the congestion.

Laptop insurance
Students in the Secondary School should have already registered their laptops with the school so that they can be covered by our special laptop insurance. It is a “breaking-in” (hurto) policy which means that the insurance company must judge that the laptop was stolen by forcing open a secure area.

All students must use suitably strong padlocks on their lockers and maintain the security of their keys or combinations. Remember: if it is not registered and locked away, it is not covered.

The book costume parade will take place around the primary school on Thursday and we will be selling books in the library during the week. You are welcome to bring your children to browse the books available for sale after the end of the school day.

Reading
Children at all stages of the primary school are immersed in books, pre reading and reading for much of the school day. However, in order for them to become competent and fluent readers we need your help at home too. Please act as a role model for your children. Let them see you enjoying reading, share books with them, read together and read to your children. Once they have discovered the joy of reading it is theirs for life!

School starts at 7am!
Please remember that school begins at 7am for all children. Any children who arrive at their classrooms after this time will be marked late on the register.

Parent survey
We value your opinions and will be sending out a survey next week, as we did last year, to try to find out how our parents feel things are going in the primary school. Please do complete the survey, the more parents who complete it the better understanding we have of what you feel is going well in school and what we might be able to do to make it even better! We will also be surveying children in Prepa through Grade 5 over the next few weeks - we value their opinions too.
