Primary Parent Partnership with Alistair Bryce Clegg
We are very excited to be working with Alistair Bryce Clegg over the next two years. Alistair is one of the leading authorities on Play in Education in the UK. He is also an award-winning author and product designer. On Thursday 12th of November (7am-8am) we are inviting primary parents to join Alistair as he talks to us about the importance of play in education... how it prepares children for future success, both academically and personally, and how to support and facilitate it at home.

Kinder Literacy Workshop for Parents
On Tuesday 17th at 5.30pm we will be running a session for Kinder parents about early development of reading and writing skills. Kinder students have begun to learn the phonics sounds through the Jolly Phonics programme, and we are inviting parents to come and learn more about our early literacy curriculum. Jolly Phonics is a fun and muliti-sensory phonics method that gets children reading and writing from an early age. This means that we teach letter sounds as opposed to the alphabet. When reading a word, they recognise the letters and blend together the respective sounds; when writing a word they identify the sounds and write down the corresponding letters. These skills are called blending and segmenting. These are two of the five skills that children need to master phonics:
Learning the letter sounds
Learning letter formation
Blending
Segmenting
Tricky words
